At Gucci

A buyer once told me that he had gone to a Gucci show and all the people there were so good-looking it made him mad.

Prada, Part Due

The light was just so amazing right before the Prada show, plus everyone was dressed in their Sunday best, so here are a few more shots I really love.

Pringle of Scotland

Pringleof_scotland

I had seen Pringle of Scotland on men.style.com last season and was really impressed, so I wanted to make sure to pop in while I was in Milan. It was worth the time. Of course, I got all caught up in looking at the collection and forgot to take more photos before I was off to Valentino.

Actually, as I write this, I've just returned from Valentino, and what a crowd! Valentino is another designer that surrounds himself with really chic people—I can't wait to post the shots tomorrow.

The Last Supper

Lastsupper

Maybe because I just saw The Da Vinci Code, or maybe because I'm in Milan, home of "The Last Supper," as I saw this scene unfold I had to shoot it.

Italian Thom Browne

Italianthombrowne

Everyone's been making a big deal about how cutting edge Thom Browne's collection is, but to me it's a more exaggerated version of what the Italians have been doing for years. Compared to this look, a Thom jacket is slightly shorter, slightly tighter, and the pants are slightly shorter—but only slightly. I think the common denominator is that both the Italians and Thom have both pulled so heavily from Brooks Brothers of the fifties. So much so that many Italians—like the guy at Brunello as well as Browne himself—never button their Brooks-inspired button-down shirts.

The Ragazzi

About_the_hair

The shirt is nice, the jeans are good, but who can get past the hair—perfecto! This has got to be the only age where you can wear your hair like that and totally get away with it.

On the Street Fashion, Literally

Motorcyclenosocks

In the mornings here in Milan I could take this shot a thousand times over. You'd think that with seemingly everyone on bicycles and motorcycles, there would be at least one taxi free to get me to the Gucci show on time.

On the Street…The Drivers

Thedriver

The drivers that take editors from show to show have a very specific look in Milan. I haven't figured out all the specifics, but the very large tie knot is the first place to start.

At Brunello Cucinelli

Visited Brunello Cuncinelli's showroom while here in Milan. Not only is the collection absolutely elegant but the people he surrounds himself with are extremely chic.

I really debated if I should share this or keep it to myself.

On the Street…Summer Suit a la Milanese

Jacket_shoudler

With a keen eye and ever-present camera, Scott Schuman—better known by his nom de blog, The Sartorialist—has developed a loyal fashion world following for his portraits of well-dressed New Yorkers. We decided to turn him loose on the streets of Milan and Paris during Fashion Week. Here's what he found.
