On the Street…Corso Venezia

This is the real reason why everyone is in Milan?to write orders. In this shot Luciano Barbera, on the right, just popped in to an appointment with Morris & Son of Chicago as they were discussing the new shoe collection. In very typical male showroom behavior Luciano is teasing Gary of Morris & Sons telling him he has feet like a woman.

Jim Gold of Bergdorf Goodman looking very cool, literally, in one of the hottest looks of the Milan season--seersucker.
Ok, I'm going to embarrass myself a little bit here and say just how much going backstage at my first Armani show meant to me. Growning up as a kid in Indiana during the eighties Giorgio Armani was my design hero, my Michael Jordan.
The press person tells me he will be ready shortly so I start getting my camera ready and I feel this big hug from the side and it is himGiorgio Armani. He puts his hand on my face and says something in Italian which the translator says means "handsome face". Now I'm so f-ing nervous I cannot hold the camera still and the resulting shot is so shaky I cannot even use it. Eventually, I calmed down and spent time following him and watching him work. No wonder he is a billionairehe really doesn't miss a thing.

Oops, I spoke too soon, the race is on now for "Sartorialist of the Season". This is Ludovico Barbera of the Milan Barberas. Simply stunning.
What do you think? Matteo Marzotto or Ludovico?

In New York, I walk and walk and walk to find great style. In Milan it just falls on you. I shot this while I was waiting in line to get a taxi to the Gucci show.

We will forever lose the title "Ugly Americans" if we keep sending over gentleman like this father and son team from Boston, here in Milan for shopping/business trip.
