The gent with the paint splatters on the chinos is handsome (I assume RL?). If so, I can't get over the "I'm a artist/painter" suggestion as fashion. Speaking as a painter, his chinos are a bit pretentious for me.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Uh... No.. No... Oh, Sweet Mercy, No!
The haircut. The glasses. The scruff. The necklace. The crisp shirt. All so wonderful.
The weed belt, stolen from some suburban 16-year-old's bedroom, so inexplicable.
The pants, totally unforgivable.

Agreed. The hash buckle is a nonsense, while the splattery-slacks are trying far too hard. In conjunction with the tan, pristine shirt, bleeding-edge goggles, and tousled grey he looks fun, but ultimately daft. I bought some of his shoes last week. Wish I hadn't now.

i don't think he's trying to tell us he's into painting at all. think of it as pants with paint/print. and that day patrick wanted to wear chinos with print. helmut lang made some using jeans years back.
