Q: I wear a business suit Monday through Wednesday and a power suit on Thursday, before corporate casual Friday. I have two Movado watches and enough David Donahue cuff links for the entire cast of Ocean’s Eleven. I am just starting to get used to making $150K a year, and I have a question: Are diamond earrings at work okay?

A: This is as good a time as any to point out to our readers that I have to have enough info to work with. How can I possibly answer this question without knowing what you do for a living? From what you have written, I am not at all sure whether you are a sports agent or a pimp. You have to help me here. I’m with you on the business suits, but why wear the power suit on Thursday? I only wear my power suits when my business takes me back to the 1980s or I find myself coaching the Lakers. As for the diamond earrings, if you’re making those bucks and wearing the earrings and you’re still there, how can my opinion possibly matter?
