Q: My husband asked how he can keep his socks up, and I mentioned sock garters. I didn’t actually think he would want them. Now he is obsessed with obtaining a pair. Please help me get him to reconsider.
A: Modern socks have stayed up since “miracle fabrics” were introduced about a half century ago. Garters are not coming back. They are uncomfortable and ridiculous. Tell Dagwood there are probably clubs he can join where he can wear them with like-minded individuals.
