Q: Ive read your magazine since high school and am now into my fifties! Truly a devoted fan! What is your feeling about tucking your tie into your pants? I see this every so often in ads but am up in the air regarding its correctness.
A: The tie tuck not only looks affected but also generally means your tie is too long or your pants are too high. Rarely these days does one encounter pants that rise high enough for you to tuck something into them, so its usually too much tie. If you are fixing the axle on your truck or serving soup without a tie clip, its better to tuck it into your shirt than your pants.
