Q: I am a Baptist minister and was asked to come up with a selection of neckties for Men’s Day at my church. I was given strict instructions to “be sure to have the matching handkerchief with the tie selections.” But I thought that style went out in the ’80s. Am I right?
A: Yes. Although I have no idea what you’re talking about. If your congregation is dressing you, they have far too much power. You’re the pastor. You should be dressing the flock. If you’re asking me “What would Jesus wear” in his suit pocket, I say white linen.
