Q: Every Chanukah my mother gives me a nice pair of leather gloves, which I promptly leave in a taxi by accident. I figure I’m old enough to start buying my own. What kind do you wear?
A: To deal with the shoe-matching situation, I have a pair of leather gloves in black and one in brown, as well as cashmere gloves, which I wouldn’t dare drive in due to their slippery softness. A man-about-town should have all of these gloves, which can be found at high-end department stores like Barneys. Better your mother should switch to those elastic clips that kids have for attaching mittens to their snowsuits.
