Studio version
Dell's new (and heavily leaked) Studio laptop line just got official. The line falls somewhere between the brand's higher-end XPS series and budget-minded Inspirons, with solid specs (4 gigs of ram, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an optional Blu-ray drive) wed to an impressive design. Most interesting is the so-called Dell Dock software, which generates a toolbar of your most-used programs in the style of Mac's OS X dock. (Hmm, a PC aping Apple?) The notebooks should be available at your favorite big-box retailer this week in up to 15 colorsyes, including pink.
Dell Studio, 15-inch version is $799, 17-inch is $999, dell.com

I wanted to shoot you a brief message to offer an early look at a fun mash-up video featuring a yet-to-be-released, new type of desktop PC from Dell -- the Studio Hybrid. The product will not be announced until July 29, but feel free to share this news and the video with your readers before that if you think it would be of interest to them.
With its compact and stylish form -- 80% smaller than a typical desktop PC, and available in seven colors -- the Studio Hybrid finally puts the desktop PC on the desktop -- and the countertop, and the book shelf…and on display. It also has a greener footprint, consuming 70% less energy than a typical desktop PC.
