They've found "Control"

Rag & Bone's first-ever holiday collection takes its cues from postpunk Brits: "We're transitioning from Blade Runner to Joy Division," says codesigner Marcus Wainwright, who explains that the inspiration for their upcoming launch came from the Ian Curtis biopic, Control. The line includes a few new duds, such as tailored jackets in a coated Japanese cotton, driving gloves (made in collaboration with Dents, England's glovemaker to the Queen), and shoes that split the difference between slippers and desert boots. The clothes will debut this October, to be followed by a Manhattan retail location later in the year. In the meantime, the designers are delving deeper into the late-seventies and early-eighties U.K. music scene. "Mods, punks, rude boys, suedeheads—they all took their looks very seriously," Wainwright says, adding with a sigh, "I have to tell you, it is extraordinarily difficult to design a great porkpie hat."
