- Be-glad-it's-not-you TV: National Geographic Channel's newest Locked Up Abroad profiles a safari party kidnapped by Hutu rebels in the Ugandan jungle, tonight at 9 p.m. (Spoiler: Half of them are hacked to pieces by machetes.)
- Today in 1946, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini—a.k.a. Mother Cabrini—became the first American citizen to be canonized.
- And today in 1940, Ringo Starr was born. The Geico cavemen have nothing on Ringo's '81 take:
