La dolce Fila

Hot on the heels of his just-released Untitled, Nas debuts his collaboration with Fila. The Italian company—hardly a go-to for hip-hop's sneaker mafia—may seem an unlikely choice, but as the Queens-born rapper explained when the deal was announced, he and his best friend "Ill Will" Graham grew up in New York's Queensbridge housing projects idolizing the brand's prestige. (After being fatally shot in 1992, Graham was even buried in a black Fila tracksuit.) Nas' tribute: high-tops in three colorways available at Foot Locker for the decidedly reasonable price of $80. Plans are, of course, underway for an eighties-inspired apparel collection to follow.
