Today in really expensive automobiles
Autoblog reports that Maybach is putting the rare Exelero sedan up for sale. Your cost? A mere $7.8 million. (Makes the Bugatti Veyron seem like a bargain, huh?) So, why the expense? The Exelero is a one-off, originally commissioned by German company Fulda to show off its new line of tires. The car also packs a 700-horsepower V12 enginegood for up to 218 miles per hourand a modified design that, for our money (so to speak), trumps that of the Mayback 57 on which it's based. Inquiries welcome here.
Those looking to save a little change should hit up the 806-hp Koenigsegg CCX, available now for only $1.05 million. But before you do, consult The New York Times review, which sagely advises that if the Corvette Z06 is "a ticket waiting to happen, [t]he Koenigsegg is like Guantanamo Bay waiting to happen." Orange jumpsuit presumably optional.
And finally, the GT-RNissan's 480-hp supercar, nicknamed Godzillais out today for an unironically good price, $71,900. Remind yourself why you want one by watching this video from GQ.
