Sushi Western

Labor Day weekend doesn't typically mean huge box office returns, and what's on offer (including Disaster Movie, unfortunately released on the anniversary of Katrina) isn't going to change that. But Sukiyaki Western Django is quality fare: The cultish Western is about warring clans fighting over hidden treasure and each trying to induct a lone gunman to aid their cause. (The bar in town is called Eastwood's, in case you'd any doubt about the film's inspirations.) And while Quentin Tarantino appears in the movie—always a turnoff, we know—it's directed by Takashi Miike, whose taste for twisted blood sport is unparalleled (or so the end of Audition led us to believe).
