$6 billion worth of Bacon

Most of Francis Bacon's major works—an estimated $6 billion worth—go on view at London's Tate Britain today. The outstanding exhibition, which runs through January, comes on the heels of the record-breaking $86 million sale of a 1976 triptych by the late artist at Sotheby's in May (to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, naturally). The Times of London has a video tour of the new show, and declares Bacon to be "the single greatest artist that Britain has produced in the hundred years that have passed since his birth." Sounds like a challenge, doesn't it, Damien?
