French Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld counts most of the fashion world as supporters and admirers, but few have gone to the lengths of Kanye West: Yeezy's published a seven-page, 96-photo spread of Roitfeld on his blog, almost entirely without comment. (That's presumably equal to 96,000 words, anyway—and knowing 'Ye, they'd likely all be in caps.) The commentariat seems a little puzzled, and some downright aggrieved, by Madame Roitfeld's "Fresh Kid" designation (an honorific Kanye's previously awarded to Lupe Fiasco, Jay-Z, and Stefano Pilati), but those of us who have followed the guy's recent career shouldn't be too surprised. Given his declamations that he's after a fashion-industry internship, we wonder if he isn't hedging his bets. Whether Sean Avery employed similar tactics to get his internship last summer is anyone's guess.
