It's not just the waist that's high

Say what you will about the world's markets being on the verge of collapse, but demand for pop-culture memorabilia has (surprisingly) remained robust. That helps explain the eclectic collection being auctioned off tomorrow at Christie's in London, which includes a few items of sartorial note, like the tuxedo trousers worn by James Dean in 1956's Giant, pictured here. (They're estimated at about $12,000-$18,000, but you'll need a 31.5-inch waist if you're thinking of getting into them.) Other items on the block include one of the late Paul Newman's racing suits ($1,500-$2,000) and a handsome outfit worn by Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood ($4,500-$7,500). Sure, it's an expensive way to play dress-up, but, as we've noted before, looks are still free. See below for more.
