Cavalli Distilled

Finally, a drink to match your tiger-print pants

August 4, 2005—As if the luxury vodka market weren't saturated enough, a whole new slew of distillers (and nondistillers, such as designer and bon viveur Roberto Cavalli) are getting in on the act. Here are five new brands to consider, but only when somebody else is picking up the tab.

1. Roberto Cavalli Vodka: $60. Uses fine Italian grains filtered through crushed Italian marble; available this fall.

2. Stolichnaya Elit: $60. Based on a centuries-old Russian recipe and filtered at subzero temperatures reaching -18 degrees celsius; available now.

3. Jean-Marc XO: $50. Pure mineral spring water is filtered through Grande Champagne limestone; available now.

4. Siku Ultra Vodka: $35. Made with crystal ice from Greenland's 60,000-year-old Qalerallit Sermia glacier; available this fall.

5. Perfect 1864: $40-$45. Uses French wheat and water from the Vosges mountains; available this fall.
