Guess which gender is better behaved at work

August 30, 2007—Not only do men make 30 cents on the dollar more than their female counterparts, they goof off a lot more while doing it. Granted, you probably know this from firsthand experience, but a new Harris Interactive and CareerBuilder.com poll has proved empirically that the guys rule when it comes to workplace mischief. Here are five most commonly broken on-the-job taboos and percentages of men and women who admitted to each.

1. Falling asleep on the job: Men (49 percent); Women (35 percent)
2. Kissing a co-worker: Men (44 percent); Women (34 percent)
3. Stealing from the office: Men (22 percent); Women (20 percent)
4. Spreading a rumor about a co-worker: Men (21 percent); Women (17 percent)
5. Consuming alcoholic beverages at work: Men (26 percent); Women (17 percent)
