DWR Biomega AMS
3 of 14
If this aluminum-framed bike has a museum-worthy design, it's no accidentthe AMS is a collaboration between Biomega and everybody's favorite upscale Ikea, Design Within Reach. Sadly, that flash does come at the expense of some substance, in particular the AMS chainless transmission. While this makes the bike refreshingly low maintenanceand keeps your pant legs from getting stuck in the chainit can also create the odd sensation that the drivetrain is catching up to you, rather than the other way around. Another concern: it handles like a mountain bike with slick tires. Bottom line: A sharp-looking bike for getting around town, as long as your town is flat and dry.
