Raleigh Coasting
Once the world's biggest bike manufacturer, Raleigh shifted gears (so to speak) in 2003 when it closed its last UK factory. Now parts are made in China and Taiwan, though bikes are still assembled at your friendly neighborhood shop. Good thing, too: Shimano's automatic-shifting Coasting system can only be fixed at licensed dealers. Though the auto tranny's nice for, uh, shiftless riders, this bike isn't quite a lazy bum's dream steedit's a bit on the heavy side. We like the classic cruiser shape, though, and the six-packfriendly front rack.
