This model's bulky predecessor, the SD1000, was a fast and affordable basic shooter. Happily, this sleeker update tweaks the boxy shape (for a slightly less boxy shape) but keeps the speed and affordability. With the new model, Canon has also added image stabilization, plus an optical viewfinder, face-detection technology, and a motion-sensor that adjusts ISO leveling. The one thing it's still missing: manual controls. Guess they're saving it for the SD1200.
