Infiniti G37

After a bumpy launch—er, make that first decade—Nissan's upscale cousin has found its legs lately. Nowhere was that more evident than with the introduction of the G35. If it didn't quite dethrone BMW's category-crushing 3-series, the G35 at least provided it some respectable competition for once (and for about ten grand less). As it should be, the second-generation G is even better than the first, bringing new levels of refinement to the party (particularly in the formerly rough-around-the-edges driveline). In terms of performance, braking's a bit better, steering's a bit sharper, and an extra 30 horsepower sends the G37 from zero to 60 a couple ticks faster. But the real progress may well be on the design front: There was always something a bit toy-racer about the G35. The newer model looks more like a car for grown-ups.
