There's a certain twisted genius at work in turning a nerdy little CLK into such a 'roid-raging beast. For serious Merc fans, this car is a very good sign indeed: The company is finally giving some hard edge to its usually too-soft fleet. And there's more to the conversion than just shoving a big motor under the hood and calling it a tag (as per Mercedes's recent habit). In addition to its 500-horsepower V-8 under the hood, this C-series also has a buttload—it's a technical term, trust us—of genuine race-tech built into its chassis and suspension. That includes adjustable shocks and springs, extensive bracing, and lighter-weight components throughout, all found in no other Benz. Indeed, this may be the first true road-legal, race-track ravager from the company in a generation.
