The category of SUV sleepers (a small one, granted) is led by the RDX, a compact hauler that goes toe-to-pedicured-toe with BMW's pricier X3 in performance and luxury. Keeping weight down and fuel economy up, the RDX's turbo squeezes maximum juice from an inline four (240 hp and a fat 260 pound-feet of torque). And, despite the hyperbolic name, Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive really works: You can actually feel it sending extra power to the outside rear wheel to zing the RDX through turns. There's really nothing to be ashamed of here, so why the plain brown wrapper?
