Audi Q7 4.2 Premium

As with most Audis, this offshoot of the Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg is a bouquet of tasteful Walter D'Silva design. Yet that flattering sloped roof also seriously impinges on interior space. And while this German brute embodies rock-ribbed stability, its sheer mass throws a 5,000-pound wet blanket on the fun. The weak V-6 model struggles to create any illusion of speed, and even Audi's beefy 4.2-liter V-8 can't bust the seven-second barrier from 0�60. Most distressingly, the Q7's odd three-row, six-passenger layout means it can only seat four adults comfortably, unless the other two are circus clowns.
