BMW X5 4.8i
Substantially longer and wider than the original X5, the second-gen, three-row model now hauls cargo as well as it hauls ass. The V-8 version can hit 60 in just 6.4 seconds. At more than 5,300 pounds, it's about as weighty as a Chevy Tahoe, but that extra schnitzel is offset by an unshakable chassis, anti-roll controls, and an MIT lab's worth of electronic damping. The result: another dynamically superior BMW—and that rare SUV that's legitimately fun to drive.
