MySims
This Nintendo-friendly installment arrived seven years after The Sims, and its cartoony graphics are a nice change from the original, which was—let's face it—kind of creepy. This version's a bit simpler: Players work on construction projects with fellow Sims, a task-centric approach that's more prosaic than the Sims' free-associative gameplay, which always struck us as a metacommentary on technology and alienation. (Granted, we were listening to a lot of Radiohead at the time). Consider it a lighthearted break in advance of next year's planned release of designer Will Wright's long delayed Spore.
