Attention aspiring Deadheads (anyone?): Shows that begin with Help -> Slipknot -> Franklin's (as set lists have it) tend to deliver. No wonder: This mystic medley contains five minutes of complex soloing, highlighted by Jerry and Bob's ascending duel during the middle Slip Knot! portion. Live versions often stretched to over 18 minutes, but it's also one of the Dead's finest studio moments—the band had taken most of the previous year off, and sound positively refreshed on this Miles-influenced, jazzy gem of a jam.
