No one has written more legendary guitar riffs than Keef, but the fact is, Mr. Richards has never been the master of the solo. So while his contribution here is typically solid, what takes the song home is Mick Taylor's sleazy wailing at the end (after Bobby Keys' sax solo). Taylor left the band in 1974—a move that, perhaps coincidentally, marked the end of the Stones' peak era. Wannabes have been making up for lost time, however: The song features in Guitar Hero II, sans the sax.
