Penca Azul

Penca Azul is one of the few small-batch tequila distillers that believe in vintages (it still puts a year on every bottle). Aged in oak barrels for more than two years, the stuff boasts a rich golden hue and a tantalizing balance of wood and agave. This hard-to-find añejo has a sweeter taste than some, making it a perfect complement to dessert. Each handblown bottle is numbered by the artist who made it (his name's Hipolito Gutierrez, and apparently he's something of a legend in the glass-blowing community)—as if you needed another excuse to start collecting empties...
