Auchentoshan 18

Auchentoshan, a distillery ten miles from the center of Glasgow, may well be one of Scotland's most unusual. Though classified as a Lowland malt, Auchentoshan takes its spring waters from 20 miles away in the Highlands, while water used for cooling the spirit comes from a pond in a crater caused by German bombing during World War II. Then there's the Auchentoshan process itself, which consists of a highly unusual triple distillation method, giving the whisky a smoother, lighter taste. The 18 is our favorite, with a pleasing lemon and blood orange taste and a hint of spice.
