Cîroc
The grape-derived upstart that sparked Polish protests—the Poles unsuccessfully tried to pressure the EU to declare that anything labeled vodka should be made from potatoes—Cîroc comes from France's mountainous Cognac region. It's made from grapes that, ice wine–style, have been left on the vine until the first frost; they're then cold-fermented like a fine vintage and processed in small alembic stills. Cîroc's makers suggest sipping it neat from a Champagne flute to appreciate its full-bodied taste, though a frozen shot glass works too (and is less likely to make you look like an asshole).
