Equal parts vodka and business school case study—just seven years after introducing it, Jägermeister-meister Sidney Frank sold the brand to Bacardi for $2.3 billion—Grey Goose is distilled from wheat from the France's Beauce region (which also produces the raw material for the crunchiest baguettes). Production is run by cellar-master François Thibault, who oversees the blending and uses naturally limestone-filtered spring water. This results in one of the cleanest quaffs around, though purists decry the lack of reference to its base ingredient, except delicate hits of aniseed or lemon.
