Dunhill Wheel Watch Chronograph

Back in the early 20th century, Alfred Dunhill churned out high-quality accessories—he called them Motorities—for the newly minted driver, including goggles, car horns, and dashboard clocks. His first portable timepiece was a brass-cased, teardrop-shaped fob that could be pried from the car and worn at journey's end. These days, Dunhill's descendants are aggressively courting the luxury wristwatch market with sleek new styles like this one. "Collectors brush Dunhill aside," says Edward Faber, "but this is a well thought-out watch—they actually facet the crystal, and the little extra hands add to the functionality." It's also true to Dunhill's heritage: Its shape is inspired by the spinners used to attach wire wheels on period sports cars.
