Terre D'Hermès
Jean-Claude Ellena, former head nose for Van Cleef & Arpels and Bulgari, calls his first scent for Hermès a "vertical smell." Translation: It's concocted from fewer than 30 elementsall either mineral or vegetalrather than the 100 or so that make up a typical cologne. The result is a clean, citrusy, earthy scent that's worthy of the "H" (which, incidentally, is elegantly carved into the base of the Philippe Mouquetdesigned bottle).
