It's no accident that this label is named after a hardy animal that travels long distances: Its rugged, workwear-influenced jeans are designed in Boulder, Colorado, and then made in Japan from Zimbabwean cotton. Like Kicking Mule's other styles, the skinny, raw 1980 model is rope-dyed, with subtle details like a stripe of selvage on the key pocket and more of it behind the button fly. As the name suggests, they take a while to break in, but they're built for the long haul.
