Though named after one of aviation's earliest pioneers, this doesn't look like a typical dial-heavy pilot's watch. Maybe that's because the machines Alberto Santos-Dumont flew in the early 1900s (airships, contraptions made of bike parts, something called "the duck") didn't look like typical planes. With sword-shaped hands and oversize, Art Deco–esque Roman numerals, this 100-year-old style was one of the first modern wristwatches—it predates the Cartier Tank—and it has been subtly updated over time: A brown dial gives the latest edition a contemporary feel, and the screws on the case are gone—they were meant to lend the watch a "masculine" look, but surely you can do that on your own.
